When you consider the fact that studios have been turning out films for almost a century, it is no surprise that it can be difficult to decide on movie downloads. With thousands of choices, it is hard to remember specific titles you want to see. As new movies are released, older ones are quickly relegated to history. However, some of the classic films are still as good today as they were when they were made. Here are some excellent movies you may have forgotten.
The 1958 movie, “A Night to Remember” could be the best film about the sinking of the Titanic. The cast included notable British actors such as Kenneth More, David McCallum, and Honor Blackman. At the time, there were still many survivors still alive who shared details that added authenticity to the production.
Among the many films that John Wayne appeared in, some were bad, some mediocre, and some were excellent. In the latter category is “Stagecoach”, which really launched his career. Better performances are often considered to have been “The Quiet Man”, “The Shootist”, “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”, “The Sands of Iwo Jima” and “The Searchers”. His 1954 movie, “The High and the Mighty” is one that was seldom shown for several decades. It is set aboard a flight from Hawaii bound for California that encounters problems halfway there. Green screen Hollywood technology, AKA chroma key is a technique used by filmmakers to mix two separate pictures together. This works by making the background ( a solid color which is mostly green or blue ) transparent in order to show another image which is the actual background that’ll be shown on film. This method of filming is often referred to as color keying, blue screen, and color separation overlay ( CSO ). It was essentially used for weather reports. Forecasters were shot in front of chroma key screens and the background was replaced by actual maps that indicate weather forecasts . The chroma key strategy is also used by filmmakers and photographers alike.
The green screen first made its appearance in the 1930’s at RKO Radio footage. The backdrop used back then was blue. This method of film making was developed to create special effects for the film “The burglar of Bagdad.” aside from the chroma key technique, filmmakers depended on a tedious and time intensive process called “travelling matte.” This made transition such as “wipes” possible . Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Jake Delhomme is having a season he’d like to forget, and things got even worse on Sunday at home against the Buffalo Bills. Despite dominating the Bills on the stat sheet, Delhomme threw three interceptions that allowed Buffalo to take a 20-9 victory over the struggling Panthers. Delhomme threw for 325 yards, though without any touchdowns. His three picks pushed his total for the year to- which leads the NFL. The Panthers dropped to 2-4 while the Bills improved to 3-4.
Buffalo rewarded NFL pointspread players with the outright victory as +7 road underdogs. The Bills have covered four of their seven games this season, while the Panthers have an awful record against the spread-they’ve only covered once this season for a 1-5 ATS mark. The 29 combined points went UNDER the posted total of 37. Buffalo has gone UNDER in 4 of 7 games this season while Carolina evened their NFL totals mark at 3-3.
The Bills’ Terrell Owens was again a non-factor, but gave credit to the defense for earning the victory:

With an offense that can strike as quickly as the New Orleans Saints’, they’re never out of a game. The Miami Dolphins found that out the hard way on Sunday as the Saints came roaring back from a 21 point deficit to win going away 46-34. Drew Brees threw for 298 yards and a touchdowns, though gave up three interceptions as New Orleans remained undefeated at 6-0 despite trailing in a game for the first time this season. Miami dropped to 2-4 on the year.
Adding insult to injury for NFL betting enthusiasts who backed Miami as +6 home underdogs, the Saints continued their rampage against the pointspread with a late game interception return for a touchdown to cover. New Orleans is 6-0 against the number this season, while Miami dropped to 2-4 against the spread. The 80 combined points sailed OVER the posted total of 47′.
After the game, Brees said that his team never lost confidence:
“There was no doubt on our sideline we would come back and win. They had given us their best shot, and we had played about as bad as we could play. All we had to do was string together a few drives and gain the momentum back. We knew it was going to happen, and it did.” Read more...

Thankfully, there were lots of technical advancements that changed the entertainment industry. There’s always a new and thrilling movie that sweeps audiences off their feet. The eyes of today’s generation are lucky enough to have see such amazing spectacles. This is possible through the help of the green screen Hollywood technique. Therefore strategy involves mixing 2 photographs so that they seem to be in a single frame. Without it, films today would continue to consist of unrealistic puppets and poorly drawn backdrops. Here are some pictures that were made possible by the green screen or “chroma key” system.
Star Wars. One of the first modern films that used chroma key technology was George Lucas’ “The Empire Strikes Back.” amazing battleship chases, interplanetary backdrops, and fascinating settings wouldn’t be possible without Chroma Key Technology. Imagine the Millennium Falcon zooming on a fake-looking background. Imagine painted backdrops in the place of the superb places the film depicted all over a universe far, far away. Former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson got revenge on the team that let him go in the best possible way. Benson amassed 189 yards rushing and led his new team, the Cincinnati Bengals, to a 45-10 rout over the visiting Bears on Sunday. Carson Palmer threw for five touchdowns with no interceptions in the blowout victory. Cincinnati improved to 5-2 with the win while Chicago dropped to 3-3 on the NFL season.
The Bengals also made short work of the NFL pointspread, easily covering as +1′ home underdogs. Cincinnati improved to 4-3 against the number while Chicago evened their ATS mark at 3-3. The 55 combined points sailed OVER the posted total of 42′. The Bengals have gone OVER in four of seven games this year while the Bears evened their NFL totals mark at 3-3.
A smug Benson described his feelings after the win:
“Everybody knew it was going to be an emotional day. Everybody knew. What a wonderful day and a wonderful thing, to go out there and strut your stuff.”
