When a guitarist is looking for that ‘extra’ sound, they usually find it in the form of one produced by guitar effects pedals. And with such effects as distortion, delay and chorus at their disposal, the effects that can be achieved are truly music to the ears. There are vast arrays of sounds available by utilising these three effects. There is also a dedicated guitar if one should be so inclined. Let’s look closer at what each of these effects do.
Distortion
The most utilised of these effects is distortion. It is the most recognisable sound as it has the most impact, both in terms of style and volume, of any guitar effects pedal. Just how much it is utilised depends upon the genre of music being performed. Heavy metal requires a crunchy sound whilst blues calls for a warmer sound. Country music uses it just enough to create a ‘clean’ sound.
Delay
Delay is another popular effect, related to reverb. An analogy of a delay could be the sound of the room that you’re in. A large room creates a boomy sound and a small room, more distinct and brighter. In any room, you’ll hear the original sound followed by the sound that reflects off the walls. The sound actually indicates the size of the room. It is essentially similar to reverb but the sounds aren’t as distinct. Read more...

Music Creates Community: Hiring an office party band is a way to connect with your workers through the power of music. Because your office likely has people who value many different types of music, it is important to select the right musical group. There are seven steps that may be followed for maximum enjoyment by party attendees.
Take Stock of Your Environment: Before hiring a band, it is useful to ask around to see the most recent concerts your colleagues have attended. If you are unfamiliar with these artists, you can find out more about them through internet research. It is also possible to present a list of bands that your colleagues love to a potential party band. They will be able to let you know which songs they can play.
Locate the Stage: A stage does not have to be built for the party. The stage area may be made by clearing away some garbage cans from a walkway area. It is just important for there to be an open area for people to watch the band, and a spot for the musical group to plug in their instruments if necessary. The band will also be able to tell you about their specific space needs. Many of them are used to playing in different environments and are generally flexible. Read more...
