Both adults and children can be affected by Celiac Disease and the disease is caused by an allergy to the protein gluten. This protein is found everyday foods such as cereals and some pasta types, biscuits, pizza crust and bread.
Unfortuantely there is no medical treatment for Celiac Disease, however, by following a gluten free diet it can be kept under control. If left untreated, sufferers who consume foods with gluten will suffer many side effects and cause damage to the inner lining of the intestine over time.
Also known as Gluten Sensitive Entereopathy or Celiac Sprue, the disease, if left untreated will cause malnutrition as the disease attacks the intestine causing such damage that the intestine is unable to absorb essential vitamins and minerals. This is generally high in teenagers who suffer from Celiac.
Foul smelling stools are normally a tell tale sign you may be a sufferer and other symptoms can include fatigue, severe abdominal pains, diarrhoea, anaemia and weight loss. Due to all these everyday side effects the disease, quite often, is misdiagnosed. Read more...

I was at a meeting of chief executives recently discussing health problems arising from computer use. One CEO said he didn’t mind paying to fix problems but would not pay to prevent them. It was alarming to discover that intensive use of computers was actually the most common cause of absence from work in the UK.
All too often it seems that employers will prefer to pay out only after the problem has happened rather than prevent it in the first place. If they thought about it a bit more it is obvious that this strategy doesn’t add up.
There is plenty of research data which shows the scale and cost of the problem. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, the Health & Safety Executive, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, produce regular reports. Musculo Skeletal Disorders or MSDs are the main problem. This includes back pain, Repetitive Strain Injury RSI, whiplash, and many other conditions including, tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, De Quervain’s syndrome, and many more. What is Chakra According to the ancient Hindus?
The human body consists of 88,000 chakras, also referred to as continuously spinning or active energy points that act as portals to receive, interact and transmit life forces between an individual and his surroundings. Chakra is Hindu for spinning wheel. Of the bodys 88,000 energy points, seven are regarded to have major importance in the overall function of our being.
Located along the spine, the seven key chakras are the root, navel, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and crown. These energy axes (chakra) in our body continuously receive and give out energies from their interaction with our environment such as other people, plants, trees, animals and other elements. They are credited with having a direct effect on our physical, emotional and spiritual character.

UTI occurs when bacteria gets into the urine and begins to grow. The infection usually starts at the opening of the urethra where the urine leaves the body and moves upward into the urinary tract. The bacteria is commonly known as E. Coli and is known to be the culprit in 90% of uncomplicated infections. The bacteria normally lives in the bowel and around the anus but can move from the area of the anus to the urethra.
Cranberry juice is a well known and clinically proven method to treat UTI infections. However, not many people know that blueberry juice provides similar benefits and can also be used. These juices have antibacterial properties and, in their pure form, can disinfect the urinary tract very efficiently. Unfortunately, additional treatment may be needed to completely rid the body of the UTI infection.
Some home remedies provide UTI relief, but that relief may be only temporary. First and foremost, you should drink plenty of fluids (especially water) to flush out the bladder. Cranberry juice is helpful as well in providing UTI relief, as it inhibits the growth of bacteria and makes it harder for the bacteria to cling to the urinary tract walls. Celery, watermelon and parsley can also contribute to UTI relief by acting as a diuretic and flushing out the bladder. Read more...

We all know what pain feels like and the relief we feel when it finally goes away. Unfortunately, there are people who suffer from chronic pain that never seems to go away. All kinds of people suffer from pain and some people experience it as a result of an injury. A Ft. Lauderdale Chiropractor is treating patients without using medications or surgeries and is having some really good results.
Most people never determine the cause of their pain. Instead, they do what they can to suppress the pain. This usually requires them to take quite a lot of pills that are sold over the counter or prescribed by a doctor. Though this may take the pain away for a short period of time, it will never be able to relieve it forever, which means pills must constantly be taken.
When you take pills, you risk suffering from side effects, like an increase in blood pressure, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and many other things. Some can also have dangerous long term effects on your health and lead to addiction.
Dr. Lawrence Schechtman at Schechtman Health Care Center does not use pills and surgeries. Instead, he uses chiropractic care, recommends certain helpful exercises, nutritional advice, and other natural methods. Read more...

Irritable bowel syndrome affects millions of Americans, many of them not even realizing that the symptoms they feel are not normal. Some suffer from severe constipation, while others deal with diarrhea. Other symptoms are gas and bloating. According to the Mayo Clinic, as many as 1 in 5 adults has irritable bowel syndrome.
While spastic colon is often used interchangeably with IBS, the two are not always identical. Spastic colon can sometimes be caused by a virus or the use of antibiotics. If this is the case, the condition is typically resolved within a matter of months. IBS-related spastic colon, however, tends to be long-term and requires some form of treatment and lifestyle changes to alleviate the pain and discomfort.
Stress is another possible cause of irritable bowel syndrome. Even though stress in and of itself might not be the cause, it can aggravate the symptoms during periods of higher stress and while a person is trying to adapt to a significant change in their life. Half of people who will deal with irritable bowel syndrome are under 35 years of age and young women are more at risk. Women may be more at risk because of hormonal changes related to menstruation. We are exposed to our native language very early in life which is why we are able to speak it and to understand it without any problems. Our brain has been programmed to decode everything that is related to that language. This is a great memory training tool. However, when you hear someone talking in another language it can’t be decoded. This is because your brain hasn’t been exposed to it enough to be able to process it.
Mastering another language is an extremely excellent method of improving your cognitive abilities. This is because your brain will hear a lot of new things that it hasn’t previously heard. Menstruation is a natural process that a woman’s body goes through every month. During this time, vaginal bleeding occurs because the body replaces the uterine lining. The menstruation period can last for a few days and can be either heavy or light. This type of vaginal bleeding is normal and should not be a cause for concern.
What is Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding?
The two questions you should ask in order to distinguish normal from abnormal vaginal bleeding are the following: 1) When do you experience vaginal bleeding; and 2) How much vaginal bleeding do you have?
The following are some symptoms of abnormal vaginal bleeding for women in the premenopause stage:
* Bleeding before or after your normal menstrual cycle
* Immoderate menstrual bleeding
* Abnormally long periods of menstruation
* Bleeding that results in anemia
* Experiencing abnormalities with the uterine tissue that cause bleeding in the genital tract. These include endometrial hyperplasia, infection, endometrial prolyps, and others.
* Fibromyoma
* Cancer of the uterus
* Cervical cancer
* Obesity
* Polycystic ovaries Read more...
